Library group knits Christmas tree to publicise cancer support charity

Members of Caldicot Library’s popular Tuesday afternoon Knit and Natter group are trying something unusual this year – they are knitting their own Christmas tree to celebrate the season and to publicise Macmillan Cancer Support.  Each of Monmouthshire’s six libraries host cancer information areas and offer a monthly drop in session.

To mark the group’s wonderful achievement residents are invited to the library on 4th December at 4pm to help decorate the tree and add finishing touches.  Festive stories and seasonal refreshments will also feature.

Tuesday 18th December sees another opportunity to view the tree when the library hosts festive stories, a fun Christmas quiz and seasonal refreshments from 4pm.

Both events are free and suitable for all ages.  Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
