Denbighshire’s Local Development Plan – the latest

Denbighshire County Council has formally submitted its Local Development Plan (LDP) to the Welsh Government and the Planning Inspectorate for comment.

The LDP is a land use planning document, that once adopted will be used to help the Council to determine planning applications cross the County.

It is a statutory plan and is a key strategic document for the Council which will help deliver new homes (especially affordable homes for local people), jobs, community facilities and play space in Denbighshire.

Following extensive preparation and consultation, the draft LDP was approved by the Council in May.

Amendments suggested by the Council have now been included in the draft document which is now available for you to view in council offices.  Anyone who made a comment on the original document will be contacted and informed of this new consultation.

An independent planning inspector has been appointed who will hold a ‘public examination’ of the document in January 2012.

The Inspector’s report on the Local Development Plan will be binding on the Council and it is anticipated that the plan will be adopted by the end of 2012.
