Distraction Burglary in Grangetown

South Wales PolicePolice in Cardiff are appealing for information on a distraction burglary which occurred at the home of an elderly woman in Grangetown.

At around 5pm on Thursday, April 24 two men called at the woman’s house in Penarth Road claiming they were in the area repairing garden walls.

The 86-year-old allowed them access to check her back garden wall and later discovered that her purse had been stolen.

The first man is described as white, 6ft tall, aged in his mid 20s, with blonde or ginger unkempt hair, slim, with a strong Irish accent.

The second man is described as shorter with dark hair and a pale complexion.

House-holders are reminded not to allow any cold callers into your home and for local residents to look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours.
