Driver not licensed

CarmarthenshireA Carmarthen taxi driver has been fined for being an unlicensed driver and other offences. Llanelli Magistrates Court was told that on February 9 this year Carmarthenshire County Council licensing officers were undertaking checks at Rhydygors School, Johnstown, and found a private hire vehicle being driven by Emma Brooks who was not a licensed driver.

Then on February 24 Brooks was found to be picking up a passenger in a private vehicle for hire and reward without the benefit of a vehicle licence or taxi drivers licence, which invalidated her insurance.

Thirty four-year-old Brooks, of High Street, Bancyfelin, Carmarthen, was fined a total of £215,  ordered to pay £200 prosecution costs and had six penalty points endorsed upon her driving licence.
