The communities of Ely and Caerau are once again preparing for their annual Green Christmas Fun Day, which this year takes places on Thursday 3 December from 3pm to 6.30pm at Glan Ely Hall (The Church of the Resurrection), Grand Avenue, Ely.
Now in its fourth year, the event was established from an idea by the Communities First Environment Action Team, who wanted to find out how residents felt about their local environment, whilst also providing a fun day for residents.
The Communities First team work with community and voluntary groups to produce a fun filled day, with activities for all the family to enjoy, including Christmas wreath making, craft activities, food, games and a visit from Santa. The
opportunity to find out more about the local environment and nearby green spaces is also available.
Executive Member for, Housing, Neighbourhood Renewal and Social Justice, Cllr Judith Woodman, said: “Its fantastic to see organisations and a community working together to help improve the environment. Everyone can have fun as well as learn about the environment. The event is going from strength to strength each year and I am sure all ages will benefit from the day.”
