Buffalo Bar in Windsor Place, Cardiff have been running a series of events to raise funds for the Medecins Sans Frountieres Haiti Appeal.
After a successful start last Sunday, organiser Glyn Mills was stunned to receive a phone call this week from well know Cardiff based artist Penelope (Penny) Rose asking:
“Do you want Tracey Emin’s twin brother Paul to run your art auction on Sunday?”
Penny had attended a similar event two weeks ago in Kent where Paul was the auctioneer, and had spotted the Cardiff venue’s event on social networking site Facebook.
Glyn immdeiately agreed and then, as he told us:
“I more than welcomed the offer on behalf of the Haiti Fund. Then the ‘cream on the cake’, Penny came back, and said that Tracey Emin would be more than willing to donate a piece of her art. I was ecstatic!. Dumbfounded to be honest”
Works by other artists including paintings by Ian Walker, Penelope Griggs, and a limited edition signed print by Sir Hugh Casson the former president of the Royal Academy will be among the works up for auction
