Snowdonia bus for just £1

From 28 March 2010 you can travel on Sherpa buses for just £1 per journey.

The Sherpa bus service takes you all over northern Snowdonia connecting with walks, holiday pursuits, beauty spots and a whole range of mountain destinations.

You can forget the car, and use public transport to access Snowdonia’s stunning mountain walks and other local attractions. Each journey on the S1, S2 and S6 routes will cost only £1 as part of the Snowdonia Green Key initiative.

The Snowdonia Green Key initiative is a partnership between Gwynedd Council, Conwy County Borough Council, the Countryside Council for Wales, Snowdonia National Park Authority, Visit Wales and the Department of Enterprise Innovation and Networks, that focus on a sustainable transport networks in Snowdonia National Park.

Megan Lynne Hughes from the Snowdonia Green Key initiative said: “This is an exciting initiative which means that people can travel throughout the area – for just £1 for every journey. We are confident that this new scheme will help us in our aim to ensure that local residents and visitors to the area enjoy Snowdonia by means of sustainable transport.”

The buses will run from Llanberis, Pen-y-Pass, Capel Curig, Betws y Coed, Llyn Ogwen and Bethesda.
