EMPti: bilingual theatre at Chapter, Cardiff

OUR good friends – Real Live Theatre will be performing their new work ‘EMPti’ at Chapter Arts Centre on September 10 and 11.

They tell us:

“what happens when the ability to cope is outweighed by the pain?”

“Beth sy’n digwydd pan fo’r boen yn gorbwyso’r gallu i ymdopi?”

Gwydion is caught between two worlds and two means of expression.
One is the world of familly and friends a world he thinks of as “EMPti”

The other world, his world, is just out of reach for the moment until he makes just that leap into the unknown…..

“EMPti” is a bi-lingual “meditation on the subject of loss” using an original musical score and movement sections, that explores the nature of grief and of compassion.”

Written by Angharad Evans
Directed by Chris Durnal
Choreographed movement Dominique Fester
Music Bethan Morgan

EMPti is on at Chapter on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 7.30pm and Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11.30pm.
