One of Wales’ most successful entrepreneurs has been hailed as “an inspiration”.
Rachel Clacher won rave reviews for the talk she gave to the Wrexham Business Professionals group.
She shared the secrets of the success of Moneypenny, the award-winning company she set up with her brother Ed Reeves in 2000,
The company is now the UK market leader in providing a telephone answering and outsourced reception service to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
The breakfast meeting was organised by solicitors Cyril Jones and Co in collaboration with Chartered Accountants Coxeys.
The event was held at the Wrexham HQ of Moneypenny where Rachel emphasised the importance of getting good professional advice.
It certainly worked for Moneypenny who have been recognised by a Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Innovation. They were also named by the Sunday Times as one of the Best 100 Places to Work.
Cyril Jones and Co Partner Gareth Jones was very impressed with what he heard.
He said: “There’s a lot of very good professional advice available in Wrexham – you don’t have to travel far afield because there is excellent advice available from a whole range of business professionals right on your doorstep.
“Promoting the availability of that advice is one of the main purposes of the Wrexham Business Professionals so Rachel’s message certainly chimed with our members.
“Having access to really good advice is key to the success of any business.
“I was also impressed with what Rachel had to say about the future of the business, and the importance of the personal approach.
“I think a lot of professionals in Wrexham have that approach already and that is certainly the case in relation to Cyril Jones and Co.”
It was a message echoed by Anthony Lewis, a Director of Chartered Accountants Coxeys.
He said: “It’s great to listen to someone who has set up a business in Wales and then made such a huge success of it, going from a two-man band to now 230 people.
“The Moneypenny story is a really inspirational one and something that the rest of us in the business community can aspire to.
“It is proof if any were needed that it is possible to be a UK market leader based in Wrexham and that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well here.
“There are lessons we can all learn from the Moneypenny experience. We have to be very aware of what the client needs and expects from us as business professionals.”
For her part, it was a “fantastic opportunity” to share the Moneypenny story with the members of the group.
Rachel said: ” “Although we’re based in Wrexham, very few of our clients are actually in Wrexham.
“It was a pleasure to be able to welcome Wrexham Business Professional into Moneypenny and tell them a little bit about what we do.”
