Essential bridge repair works underway

Denbighshire County Council is informing motorists of essential maintenance works taking place on the A541 at Bodfari over the bank holiday period following a recent road traffic accident which resulted in damage to a bridge.

On Thursday, 14 April two vehicles were involved in the collision on the Pont Ruffydd Bridge on the Denbigh to Mold road to the west of Bodfari which resulted in substantial damage to the listed bridge’s parapet.

Work is now underway to repair the damage and in the interests of highway safety it is necessary to restrict the carriageway to one lane and provide temporary lights to regulate traffic until the repairs are complete.

These repair works are unavoidable and need to be carried out as soon as possible, with the work expected to take up to two weeks to be completed.
