Children at Bute Cottage Nursery School in Penarth are at the forefront of using information and communications technology (ICT) to enhance their work, and that’s official.
Following an inspection Bute has been awarded the prestigious ICT Mark by Becta, the government-funded body responsible for promoting the use of ICT in schools and colleges.
The award recognises the school’s success in developing the use of ICT in administration and across the curriculum. Parents now have proof that their children are attending a school at the forefront of modern technology.
ICT Mark assessor Emma Vaughan said: “The breadth and range of ICT is outstanding and the level of independence and pupil attitudes are excellent.”
Congratulating Bute Cottage Nursery on its wonderful achievement, Vale of Glamorgan Council school improvement strategy team leader Jendy Hillier said: “The council is determined that all local children will have the best opportunity to excel in the jobs market of the future.
