Family Fun Planned for Bure Park

Cardiff’s magnificent Bute Park has launched an exciting summer timetable of events which can now be viewed online.

The new programme runs from April to October and is jam packed with fun activities taking place in and around the park and Arboretum.

The family orientated events offer a fun way to learn about the nature in the park looking at everything from slimy slugs to busy birds.

They include a series of walks such as the Restoration Project Walk which invites people to learn about the ongoing development works in the park as part of the £3.1m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

There are Wildlife Detective sessions whereby participants can discover the interesting variety of trees common to the area or explore the changes to the park from season to season.

Other activities include orienteering, walks and lectures depicting the history of the park, fishing workshops and conservation afternoons.

Throughout the summer holidays there will also be a number of self-led family activity trails around the park which are available from the Summerhouse Kiosk situated opposite the Millennium Bridge.
