Fancy a pint with your ballot?

Some Anglesey residents will be casting their votes in very different surroundings come polling day on Thursday, May 6th 2010.

The Holland Hotel pub in Llanfachraeth will be used as a polling station on the day of the General Election.

With the village hall unavailable, the County Council’s Electoral Team chose to break new ground, using a public house as a polling station for the very first time.

Recent changes to community boundaries will also mean a change of polling station for some electors in and around the Pentraeth, Penmynydd, Holyhead and Trearddur Bay areas.

It’s important therefore that residents living in these areas check their poll cards before heading out to vote.

Acting Returning Officer, Richard Parry Jones, said, “Poll cards are now being delivered through letterboxes all over Anglesey. It’s important that you read the information on them carefully as they tell you were you should go to cast your all-important vote.”
