Fatal Road Traffic Collision on Stormy Down

Family tribute & Police Appeal

A 29 year old man who died following a collision on Monday 22 March, 2010, has been named as Paul Anthony Leach from the Bryntirion area of Bridgend.

His family has paid tribute to him and said: “Paul was a son, a brother and a father of two children and will be tragically missed by all.  Paul was a ‘rock’ to the family and lived life to the max.  Dearly missed by Paul’s step father and re-united with his father.

“We ask the media to respect our wishes and leave us alone to grieve as a family at such a sad time.”

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which occurred at about 11.00pm, on the A48 at Stormy Down, between Bridgend and Pyle. It involved a dark coloured stretch Limousine vehicle travelling west towards Pyle.

Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone driving along this section of the A48 at the relevant time, especially anyone who can recall seeing a male pedestrian walking east towards Bridgend, a short distance west of the speed camera.

Witnesses should contact the Road Policing Unit via 101, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or visit their local police station
