Fishguard RNLI volunteers kept busy over Easter

Fishguard RNLI have been kept busy over the run up to the Easter holiday period.

During their routine Wednesday evening training session on 20th April the inshore lifeboat was diverted to respond to a request by the Coastguard after a member of the public had called to inform them that a small dinghy was thought to be in difficulties in Fishguard Harbour. It transpired that two teenagers had borrowed the boat. The ILB towed the dinghy and its occupants back to Goodwick slipway where the Coastguards impounded the boat.

The following day the all-weather lifeboat was tasked by the Coastguard to head towards Dinas Head after a member of the public reported seeing a white flare out to sea. The ALB launched at 3pm and after spending an hour searching the area in hazy conditions without result the operation was stood down and the ALB returned to base.
