Flint RNLI called as man threatens river jump

North Wales Police requested the assistance of Flint RNLI lifeboat at 18.45 yesterday (25 April), when a man in a distressed state threatened to jump into the River Dee at Connahs Quay Dock.

The lifeboat was launched at the Ski Club, Connahs Quay at 19.05, and remained stood off the Dock Wall until the police successfully talked him around. The lifeboat and its volunteer crew returned to the lifeboat station and was ready for service at 20.30.

Alan Forrester RNLI volunteer lifeboat operations officer for FLint lifeboat station said:

‘We had an excellent crew turn out, we were concerned that the fast incoming tide could have made conditions very difficult, happily the police talked the man around.’
