Flint RNLI called out to early morning incident

Flint RNLI volunteer crew, Police, Police Helicopter and coastguard were alerted at 1.40am to reports that a man was threatening to jump from the Blue Bridge at Queensferry, Flint RNLI were on scene at 1.55am and carried out a thorough search of the river downstream as the tide was ebbing.

The Police helicopter carried out two separate sweeps of the area using its thermal imaging equipment. The search was called off at 4.00am. Flint lifeboat returned to station and was made ready for service by 4.40am, at which point after little sleep some of the volunteer crew went directly to work.

Alan Forrester, Flint volunteer lifeboat operations manager said we had a full turn out of volunteers, some had only just arrived home from work, and others were going straight to work after the call, I can’t praise them enough, we are always looking for extra crew, you can contact Alan on 07785593247.
