Flintshire Local Access Forum: Invitation for expressions of interest in becoming a member of the Forum

The Flintshire Local Access Forum was originally established in 2002 by the County Council in accordance with the requirements of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, and covers the whole of the county of Flintshire. The present term of membership of the Forum of three years will expire on 22 December 2011. Each local authority in Wales has established one or more forums for its area.

The Forum’s function is to advise the County Council, the Countryside Council for Wales and others, as to the improvement of public access to land in the area for the purposes of open air recreation and the enjoyment of the area.

The County Council now wishes to appoint interested persons with the appropriate background and experience to serve on the Forum for the next period of three years from December. All present members who are willing to stand for a further period will be considered, along with any new applicants.

So far, the Forum has generally met four times a year. It is important that members can attend all meetings, as deputies are not permitted. Membership of the Forum is unpaid, but members are able to claim reasonable expenses.

Any person wishing to be considered for membership can obtain further details, and an application form, from:-

David M. Davies, Secretary of the Flintshire Local Access Forum, Legal and Democratic Services Division, Flintshire County Council, County Hall, Mold, Flintshire, CH7 6NR
