Nominate your sporting heroes – Flintshire Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2012.
Do you know someone who has excelled in sport over the last year or who has freely given their time to coaching, volunteering and organising grass roots sport? If so, get your nomination in for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year. Now in its fifth year the Flintshire Sports Council together with Sport Flintshire present this year’s categories.
There are ten award categories this year, they are:
- Junior Sports Man (under 18)
- Junior Sports Woman (under 18)
- Senior Sports Woman (over 18)
- Senior Sports Man (over 18)
- Team of the Year (all ages)
- Community Club of the Year (all ages)
- Young Volunteer of the Year (under 18)
- Volunteer of the Year (over 18)
- Coach of the Year (all ages)
- Service to Sport
Anyone can nominate an individual / team or club who they feel deserves to be put forward in recognition of their achievements/commitment. All nominations are then short-listed by Flintshire Sports Council, Sport Flintshire and Airbus UK representatives. Those who are short listed will be invited to attend the prestigious awards evening on Friday 9 March 2012 at Clwyd Theatr Cymru along with other finalists, sponsors and dignitaries for what is always an enjoyable and memorable evening.

“There is a very strong tradition in Flintshire of producing high quality and high performing athletes and teams, we also have an outstanding network of volunteers and community coaches who make a real difference to Community Sport in Flintshire. The Sports Awards is our chance to congratulate Flintshire’s top performers, while also recognising the hard work of coaches, teachers, club organisers and volunteers who make it all possible.”
The closing date for nominations is Friday 4 November 2011 at 5pm.
