Floralia Festival this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Then why not pop along to the Floralia Festival, a 2-day micro-fest of lady-led events, inspired by the original Roman May Day celebrations in honour of the goddess Flora, patron of spring, flowers, and female beauty/ability.

The organisers have four lovely events for you to come an enjoy this weekend. See below forthe schedule for your delight, delectation, and diaries!

SUNDAY 2nd MAY

TELLING TALES – telling stories and story telling from Susie Wild, Gillian Brightmore, Amanda Rackstraw, Gemma June Howell, and more!
2pm @ Cardiff Arms Cafe Bar on Westgate Street, FREE EVENT!

EVE’S FUNNY BONE – improv, comedy, and funny poetry from Taylor Glenn, Holly Ireland, Emma Williams, Mab Jones, Steph Lane, Sarah Bridgeman, Sian Mayer, and more!
7.30pm @ Pica Pica, Westgate Street, £5 / £4 concessions

MONDAY 3rd MAY

ACOUSTICA – soulful jazz singer Melanie Goldsmith and other acts TBA.
2pm @ The Promised Land, Windsor Place, FREE EVENT!

MANIC MONDAY – performance poetry and spoken word from Rachel Pantechnicon (“technicolour suburban entertainment – John Hegley), Katie Sarra, Aisling Tempany, Zoe Mills and Mab Jones. Includes open mic section – come and have a go.
7.30pm @ The Promised Land, £5 / £4 concessions / £3 open mic readers

All genders, colours, ages, religions and hairstyles are welcome at these events.
