Four arrested in Hi Tech crime swoop

North Wales Police yesterday executed search warrants across the region under the Protection of Children Act, conducting four separate raids resulting in four arrests.

One 17 year old youth from the Rhyl area has been charged with 11 counts of making indecent images of children and will be appearing at Prestatyn Magistrates Court today.

Two men from Deeside and one from the Menai Bridge area have been released on police bail pending further examination of computer equipment.

None of the investigations are linked.

Hi Tech Crime Investigator, Mike Gallienne said: “This was part of a proactive investigation against people who access child abuse images on the internet.

North Wales Police are committed to targeting anyone who indulges in this activity.”
