If you need ideas for half term that won’t break the bank, Denbighshire’s Heritage Service are running the following fun events designed for all the family:

What lurks beneath the water?!
A fun event to find out what mysterious plants and creatures live in the streams and dell at Plas Newydd
How do they survive? Why are they there?

Birdmania!
Birdwatching and storytelling with Andy Harrop-Smith for Biodiversity Week
An insightful and fun look at bird life in the beautiful gardens at Plas Newydd.

Ruthin Gaol Included in admission

11am-4pm
YOU are the prisoner!
You’ve seen this fascinating building as a visitor…but it looks a lot different through the eyes of a prisoner!
Costumed staff will conduct guided tours of the Gaol as visitors find out what it was like to be a prisoner in Victorian times…so be on your best behaviour or you may have to forego your supper!

‘Following the Flame’ FREE
Wed-Sun June 2nd – 30th
‘Following the Flame’ is at Rhyl Museum until May 31st, then at Plas Newydd, Llangollen and Ruthin Gaol June 2-30.
This exhibition on the Cultural Olympiad celebrates Wales’ contribution to the Olympics, local heroes and forgotten stories from a great sporting nation.
A fascinating and educational trip down memory lane.
