A generous mum who won a competition prize for the first time in her life gave most of it away to her children.
Catherine Jackson, 54, won a competition organised by the Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham as part of the recent Fashion Frames event held there.
The married mum of four from Wrexham bagged a voucher for goods worth £250 at luxury jewellery store Mococo in a competition in conjunction with the Leader newspaper.
Catherine, who works as a nurse at the Maelor Hospital, is delighted.
She said: “I can’t actually believe that I’ve won this prize to be honest. I was quite shocked when the phone call came, and it’s quite a special prize.”
According to Catherine, her kids are already eyeing up presents.
She said: “I have no idea what I’m going to get yet but my 17-year-old daughter does. She’d like a bracelet. I’ve also got a daughter who lives in Leicester who is quite keen to come and spend some money as well.
“And my son says why should he miss out, so maybe we can find something for him as well. There are some watches here he’s got his eye on.
“I’ve never been in Mococo before but I know my daughters come in here. It’s very nice and I can see why they come here.
“I love Eagles Meadow. I like the variety of shops here and I quite often come and shop in Marks and Spencer for food.
“I also love Debenhams for the shoes and the bags, and now I love Mococo for jewellery. The children like it, and there are places to eat here which is really good. It’s not far from town and the parking is great underneath.”
Mococo sales advisor Isabelle Motti said: “Catherine has won a fantastic prize. She’s really excited about it and she’s can some gorgeous jewellery for her kids and herself. Her kids are very lucky they’ve got such a generous mum.
“She’s a lovely really down to earth woman. It’s really nice when people win these prizes. It makes your job worthwhile to make people happy with the jewellery.”
