The inaugural 24 hour aquathon will come to the South East Wales regional pool, at the Newport International Sports Village between Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March 2010.
All funds raised by participants in the aquathon will be donated to the current Mayor of Newport’s charities which includes Newport Mencap and the St David’s Foundation.
The aim of the event is to encourage as many people to take part in swimming and aquatic events over the 24 hour period and in the process raise funds for local charities through collecting sponsorship.
Swimming Development is encouraging members of the public, aquatic clubs, schools and Newport City Council members of staff to take part.
