Get Voting for Beddau

Residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf, its time to get behind your community and get voting!

As part of ITV Wales’ People’s Millions Awards 2010, Llwyncrwn Primary School has been shortlisted to secure National Lottery funding to create an ‘Eco-Sensory Grounds Project in Llwyncrwn Primary, which the school and the local community can enjoy.

The project which was put forward by Services for Young People’s cluster workers based in Beddau, has requested £47,895 which will help the area to offer a programme of activities to develop and sustain an eco-sensory community ground. The environmental plans include the development of a nature area, a safe water area, a quiet -reflective zone, an organic allotment and a cultivating centre.

The money would pay for landscaping, gardening tools and equipment, plants, seating, a shelter, sandpit, compost and recycling bins and safety surfacing. The project will strengthen partnership working between schools and community groups, provide a focal point for the area and encourage the community to become involved in horticulture.

Councillor Eudine Hanagan, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, said: “I am very pleased that this project has been shortlisted and I ask all residents to get behind their wider community and vote for this extremely worthwhile project. With just one 10p call, a whole community’s life could be changed and hundreds of young people’s lives could be changed for the better”.

To help Eco-sensory Community Grounds Project Llwyncrwn Primary win funding you must vote by phone between 9am and midnight on Thursday 25 November.
