Commenting on today’s rise in unemployment figures in Wales, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales Cheryl Gillan MP said:
“These figures expose the extent of Labour’s mismanagement of the Welsh economy.
“Their stubborn refusal to face facts means their policies have cost another 9,000 people their jobs in the last quarter.
“The fallout from Gordon Brown’s recession continues to have a direct impact on individuals, families and businesses across Wales.
“Wales is being left behind. Only a Conservative Government can drive forward the Welsh economy, protecting jobs, stimulating private sector investment, exports, and enterprise.”
Shadow Minister for the Economy David Melding AM said:
“It is disturbing that unemployment in Wales has risen at a time when it is falling across the UK
“If this becomes a trend it will signify a very worrying omen for employment in Wales.”
