Glyn Davies MP Asks Residents to Nominate Local Good Causes in Montgomeryshire

Glyn Davies MPGlyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, is asking residents to nominate local good causes in Montgomeryshire for Lloyds Bank’s ‘Community Fund’.

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund provides grants to support local good causes across the UK. Residents from communities are invited to nominate causes who they think deserve support. If they are eligible, Lloyds Bank then invites the causes to apply. Applications are then shortlisted for a public vote in September and October, to decide which cause will receive each award within their community.

Over 1,400 good causes in 350 communities across the UK are set to benefit from the Community Fund in 2014, with grants of up to £3000 being awarded to support local projects and services which make a positive difference to their local communities.

Over 2.3 million votes were cast for the 2013 Community Fund, with 380,000 people benefitting from an award.

Speaking about the Community Fund, Glyn Davies MP said:

“The Lloyds Bank Community Fund is a great opportunity for residents to champion a local cause within Montgomeryshire.

“The Fund’s grants can help to support the core costs that are necessary for the everyday running of projects and services, and I know that there are many good local causes within Montgomeryshire that would greatly benefit from this.

“I would ask anyone who believes a cause in their community should be supported by the Fund to nominate them.”

Nominations for the Community Fund have opened and can be made online at www.lloydsbank.com/communityfund. The deadline for nominations is April 30th 2014.
