Glynneath Library wins bid for £100,000 WAG Grant

One of Neath Port Talbot’s most popular libraries in Glynneath is to undergo a refurbishment programme that will see it close for a month from Monday 18th October 2010.

Neath Port Talbot libraries have once again bid successfully for £100,000 grand funding from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The new look library will re-open on November 15th and will transform the experience for all the community that use the facility. New features will include Wi-Fi and additional computers with more space available for users to enjoy.

Whilst the refurbishment takes place a replacement mobile library will be situated at the side of the current library. This unit will provide a basic book lending service with no computer access.

Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council Ali Thomas said, “Once again NPT libraries have secured funding to transform another of our popular libraries. A library is often the heart of a community. The £100,000 grant funded refurbishment of Glynneath will ensure the service we provide is practical and technically up to date and suits the needs of all our residents.”
