Public’s view wanted on health strategy

A draft document outlining the way forward for health, social care and well-being services in Pembrokeshire over the next few years has been published.

The document has been compiled jointly by Pembrokeshire County Council and the Hywel Dda Health Board together with Public Health Wales and other partner agencies in  the voluntary sector.

Entitled ‘Draft Health, Social Care and Well-Being Strategy 2011 – 2014′, the document presents:

  • an outline of the vision and values for health, social care and well-being
  • a description of the changing context in which services will be delivered
  • a summary of current health needs in the County
  • an identification of priority areas and actions to address these

In a joint forward to the report, Council Leader John Davies and Health Board Chairman, Chris Martin, say that work continues on a two-pronged approach to improving health and well-being in Pembrokeshire.

One is by preventing ill health in the first place and the other is by improving the county’s health and social provision for those who need the service.

They are now looking for the public to express their opinions on the draft strategy which is available to view on the following three websites:
