Go Green for Recycle Week

Residents across the Caerphilly county borough are being encouraged go green next week to help celebrate national ‘Recycle Week’.

Recycle Week takes place between 21 – 27 June and Caerphilly county borough council will be highlighting the benefits of reducing, reusing and recycling more. Many residents across the area are already doing a fantastic job supporting the council’s various green schemes including weekly recycling collections, food waste recycling and garden waste recycling.

“Recycle Week is an excellent opportunity for us to raise awareness about how important it is for people to change the way they think about waste,” said Cllr Lyn Ackerman. “We can all make a big difference by making a few small changes to the way they deal with our waste and I would encourage everyone to join in with our green efforts.”

A number of activities will take place across the county borough including: –

  • Monday 21st June – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling between 9.30 am and 11.30am at Penallta Civic Amenity Site.
  • Wednesday 23rd June – WEEE recycling between 9.30 am and 11.30am at Penmaen Civic Amenity Site.
  • Thursday 24th June – Display and general recycling information at Penallta House Council Offices Ystrad Mynach between 11.00am – 2.30pm.
