Graham: Jobs blow threatens town’s economic vitality

Responding to news that Western Corrugated has ceased trading with the loss of 132 jobs, many of which are at its Cwmbran plant, Welsh Conservative AM William Graham said:

“We regret this loss of jobs, particularly at this time of year. This is a serious loss of jobs in Torfaen which shows that the recession is still able to claim local victims.

“Job losses of this kind threaten the economic vitality of Cwmbran. The Assembly Government must do more to restore business confidence and avoid distressing closures of this kind.”
