With the highlight of the racing year, the Grand National, almost upon us, many of us will be taking our one-day annual interest in horse racing. But this year, why not make a weekend of it, and help to raise money for the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod at the same time?
On Sunday 15 April, the National Eisteddfod is sponsoring a day’s horseracing at the Ffos Las racecourse in Carmarthenshire, and are currently looking for anyone interested in purchasing a table at the Bridles Restaurant, on the course for the day – the perfect location to enjoy a day’s racing in a friendly environment.
Tables cost £600, and can sit up to ten people for a three course meal, coffee, entry fee for the course and the official programme for the day. TV screens are also situated in the restaurant, so you can follow all the excitement without having to leave your seat! Betting facilities are also available in the restaurant, and the balcony lies in a prime location, overlooking the racecourse itself, so you won’t miss a single second of racing.
National Eisteddfod Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts, said, “This partnership with the Ffos Las racecourse is a great way of raising money for the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod this year. This is sure to be a fun-filled day, and a chance to relax with family and friends or with you business clients.
“The response has been excellent so far and there’s only a few tables still available. So, if you’re interested in being part of the day, get in touch very soon, to avoid disappointment.”
Anyone interested in purchasing a table should contact Glyn Jones, the local finance officer for the Eisteddfod on 0845 4090 300 or email [email protected].
The Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod is held on the old airfield at Llandow near Cowbridge and Llantwit Major from 4-11 August. For more information go to www.eisteddfod.org.uk.
