Greenlinks project set for spring launch

Volunteer drivers are being sought for a new community transport service being launched this spring.

Available for use by all residents and community groups in the rural Vale, the new Greenlinks Community Transport Service minibus has been adapted for wheelchair users.

A local art group planning a trip to an exhibition, a junior football team looking for transport to an away game or even an individual resident needing to attend an appointment can book the Greenlinks minibus.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council will provide specialist training and insurance for volunteer drivers so, if you are able and willing to help with this new community scheme or would like to use the minibus, please contact Graham Cartwright, community transport officer, on 01446 704870 to register your interest.

Funding for the project from the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development is administered by Creative Rural Communities (CRC), the council’s rural regeneration initiative.
