Groundwork Gateway to Work course available in Deeside

A Groundwork Gateway to Work course (offering practical help and advice to guide people back into employment) starts on Monday September 26 at the John Summers Community Campus, Deeside.

The structured programme is for one day a week over twelve weeks. The course includes building confidence, managing money, benefit advice, CV and letter writing, interview skills, searching for jobs and filling out application forms. It will offer help, advice and guidance, as well as access to lots of useful resources.

Each day offers a combination of one to one personal advice and group workshops. Refreshments are available when attending. There will also be an opportunity to volunteer for a day on a Groundwork Community Project.

You can take part in Groundwork Gateway to Work if you:

  • Are in receipt of Incapacity Benefit or Income Support
  • Are retired and want to return to work
  • Are aged 16 -17 and not in employment, education or training
  • Are a lone parent
  • Are living with a work-limiting health condition
  • Do not claim benefits
  • Work less than 16 hours per week

Please note: if you receive Jobseeker’s Allowance, or Employment Support Allowance, you cannot take part in Groundwork Gateway to Work.

The course starts on Monday 26 September 2011 from 10am until 3pm at the John Summers Community Campus, Deeside.
