Gwynedd businesses polled

Gwynedd Council is conducting a survey of local businesses so that future support is focused on their needs.

The Council’s Research and Information Unit is working in partnership with the Business Unit to conduct the poll which will gauge the sector’s opinions of the business environment in terms of employment, training, recruitment and business growth.

This survey is part of the Council’s economic plan: ‘Gwynedd Working – ‘Responding to the Recession’, which was launched 18 months ago and was amongst the first of its kind in Wales.

Councillor Dewi Lewis, Gwynedd Council’s Senior Development Portfolio Leader, said:

“I would urge all businesses in Gwynedd, whatever their size or scope, to complete the questionnaire. The more information the Council has about economic trends and how they change over the time, the better placed we are to offer the right kind of support.

“Some of the schemes that are already in place in Gwynedd, such as procurement events and advice and town centre support packages, are as a direct result of listening to what local businesses tell us. So it is vital that more people contact us with their opinions so that we can focus our work.

“The last two years have been very challenging for the whole sector but we are confident that by supporting one another we can weather the storm.”

To take part in the survey, visit the website www.gwynedd.gov.uk/businesssurvey before Friday, 12 November 2010.
