Gwynedd Council pays tribute to its staff

GwyneddOver the past eighteen months, Gwynedd Council’s Social Services and staff from private agencies in the county have been following specialised occupational courses.

The staff were congratulated for their efforts at presentation events held at the Ship, Dolgellau and the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon to celebrate their achievements. More than 240 staff members from throughout Gwynedd received certificates noting their NVQ awards at levels 2, 3 and 4 which recognised their dedicated work.

Councillor Dai Rees Jones, Gwynedd Council Social Services Portfolio Leader said:

“The fact that over 240 staff members have achieved these recognised occupational qualifications is a testament to the Council’s commitment to develop the skills of our staff members, as well as ensuring that we deliver a service of the highest standard for Gwynedd residents.

“I’m sure that these courses have given our staff the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills and that they use what they’ve learnt for the benefit of service-users in Gwynedd. Many congratulations to all the staff members for their achievement.”

Gwynedd Council provides NVQs across a range of care services at different levels and also provide training and assessment to the private sector as part of its commitment to the Social Care Workforce Development Partnership.
