Gwynedd Weather Update 13th January 2010

Roads
Gwynedd Council, like many other counties in Wales, has to limit the use of rocksalt to the treatment of main highways (First Priority Routes) only at present.

On back roads there are salt bins at strategic locations throughout the county, and the Council is doing all that it can to ensure they are restocked.

You are advised not to travel in severe weather conditions unless absolutely necessary. If you do travel, please take care and try to stay ond the main roads which have been gritted.

For details on road conditions contact the Traffic Wales hotline on 0845 6026020.

Useful information on how to drive safely in wintery conditions, and practical guidelines on how to prepare your home for winter can be found on the severe weather – emergency planning section on this website.
