Halloween fun in Bridgend County Borough

Spooky stories and crafts for children aged under 11 will be taking place at libraries in Bridgend, Maesteg, Pyle and Pencoed this Halloween.

On Wednesday 27 October at 2.30pm, come along to Maesteg Library to enjoy a spooky Halloween crafts workshop – the scarier the better! For further details, call Maesteg Library on (01656) 754835.

On Thursday 28 October, you can visit Bridgend Library at 2.15pm to join in the spooky fun with stories, games and puzzles. Children will also have the opportunity to make a super scary mask, the scariest of which will win a special Halloween prize. Then in Pyle Life Centre at 2.30pm there will be spooky stories and Halloween crafts. For further details call Bridgend Library on (01656) 754830 or Pyle Life Centre on (01656) 754850.

For those of you who don’t wish to celebrate Halloween, why not bring your children along to Pencoed Library on Thursday 28 October at 2.30pm for an ‘Absolutely nothing to do with Halloween’ afternoon of magical storytelling and fun-filled crafts. Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Library Service, admission to all the storytelling and crafts events are free of charge. Advance booking is not necessary, except if you are visiting Maesteg Library, where admission is by a free ticket which you can get in advance from the library.

Please note that all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

The Berwyn Centre in Nantymoel has also arranged lots of fun Halloween activities for children under 11.

On Tuesday 26 October from 2- 4pm, you can enjoy an afternoon of half-term arts and crafts fun by making Halloween masks. Admission is £2.50 per child (£4 with lunch box served at 1.30pm). Numbers are limited, so advance booking will be required.

On Thursday 28 October from 4 – 6pm, there will be a chance for young children to celebrate Halloween with an under 11s disco packed full of music, dance, games and fun including prizes for the best fancy dress costume. Admission is £1.50.
