Happy memories for former RNLI treasurer as Moelfre receives donation

Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station recently received a generous donation of £500 from the worshipful Master Mason Arwel Jones of the Pegasus Lodge, Caergwrle, near Wrexham.

Mr Jones said:

‘I have been a supporter of the RNLI charity for many years and have close connections with the Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station, as my father William was the stations treasurer in the late sixties, he has accompanied me here today and the Station has brought back many happy memories for him, working closely with the famous Moelfre RNLI Coxswain Dic Evans.’

The money was raised from the ladies evening held in the Queens Hotel, Chester. Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat treasurer Ken Bolton accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity.

Ken Bolton said:

‘We are all extremely grateful to the members of the Lodge and their wife’s for deciding to donate this money to the Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station and it will go towards enabling our volunteer Lifeboat crews to continue saving lives at sea’.
