Have your say on heritage site planning guidance

Do you live or work near the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site and thinking of applying for planning permission to develop your home, farm or business?

Denbighshire, Shropshire and Wrexham Councils are consulting on draft joint planning guidance to manage development affecting the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site.

The proposed guidance note has implications for development along the length of the canal and aqueduct and within the towns of Cefn Mawr, Chirk, Chirk Bank and Llangollen, as well as the rural areas adjacent to the site.

A number of informal ‘drop in’ sessions have been arranged, to allow the public to come and discuss the draft guidance:

  • Monday 24th October, 3.00pm-8.00pm, Trevor Community Centre
  • Tuesday 15th November, 3.00pm-8.00pm, Llangollen Town Hall.

The consultation closes on Friday 16th December 2011. Please send any comments before 5pm on Friday 16th December 2011 in writing to:
