Holywell appeal

NW PolicePolice are asking people to cast their minds back after an elderly man is believed to have been assaulted in Holywell, last month.

The 80-year-old man was found lying on the pavement in the Coleshill Street area of Holywell at approximately 12.30pm on Sunday 25 October.

Initially it was thought he had fallen, but hospital treatment revealed that his head injuries were more consistent with being assaulted.

At the time two men were seen with the victim.

One of them is described as being white, in his early 30s, 5’7″ tall and of medium build. He was wearing white overalls.

The second man was white, in his late 30s, of slim build with shoulder length sandy coloured hair.

PC Jason Gunn said: “We are keen to locate these two men and establish what their involvement was with the victim.”

He added: “We are also keen to speak to a woman described as black and dressed smart, who may have possibly just attended a local church, to come forward as she may have seen the incident taking place.”

The elderly man remains in hospital.
