A generous donation of £1,380 was presented this week to Horton and Port Eynon RNLI lifeboat station by the South Wales Kayaking Club and the White Water Consultancy.
Members of the South Wales Kayaking Club and Keith Hubbard from the White Water Consultancy presented the cheques to Clare Payne, Horton and Port Eynon Fundraising Chairperson, on behalf of the RNLI.
The South Wales Kayaking Club and the White Water Consultancy raised the money by having raffles, the prizes for which were kindly donated by local kayaking shops and businesses. Special thanks also goes to Davy Rees, who won a kayak but sold it and generously donated the proceeds to the RNLI.
Family and friends of the South Wales Kayaking Club attended the presentation, as well as Keith Hubbard and his wife from the White Water Consultancy. It was an enjoyable morning as RNLI supporters and guests enjoyed a chat over tea and biscuits, and the children also had a chance to dress up in RNLI gear. The guests then enjoyed a special treat as the inshore lifeboat was launched on exercise in Port Eynon bay.
