Hurry if you want to vote

Householders are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote ahead of the forthcoming General Election.

With the date set at May 6, citizens have until Tuesday, April 20 to register to vote

In order to vote in the Election, an individual’s name needs to be on the electoral register.

People who have moved house recently are especially urged to check that they are on the register.

“When you change your address, you need to re-register with your new details” stressed Pembrokeshire County Council’s Electoral Services Manager, Glynne Morgan.

“Just because you are paying Council Tax at your new address doesn’t automatically mean that you will be on the Electoral Register there. You need to contact us separately. This applies whether you have bought your home or you are renting.”

To check if you are registered to vote or to request a registration form, contact the Electoral Services office at 8 High Street, Haverfordwest  or ring the special election helpline on 01437 775844 or email: [email protected]

Alternatively a registration form can be printed off from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk
