Illegal vehicles seized in Pontypridd

More than one vehicle an hour was seized during a South Wales Police operation in Pontypridd

Traffic officers spent the day on the Broadway with an automatic number plate recognition machine to identify uninsured drivers, untaxed vehicles and those without MOTs, after concerns had been raised by residents.

A total of eight vehicles were seized between 8.50am and 4pm on Wednesday, May 5, for document offences.

In addition, 13 drivers – nine men and four women – were given fixed penalty notices for not wearing seat belts.

Following this operation, the officers patrolled Nantgarw where anti social behaviour and motor vehicle nuisance have been identified as Pact priorities.
