Information Drop-in Event for Bodnant Community School Extension

denbighshireOfficers from Denbighshire County Council will be in attendance at Bodnant Community School to discuss plans for a proposed extension.

The Project Designer and Project Manager will be at the juniors site of the school on Thursday 13 March from 3:30pm until 6pm to discuss the proposals and answer questions.  Copies of the plans for the extension will also be on display in the school.

Bodnant Infants and Juniors amalgamated in January 2012 to create Bodnant Community School on the two existing sites.  The Council is now planning to build an extension on the Juniors site on Nant Hall Road to allow the Infants pupils to join the Juniors pupils on Nant Hall Road.  Initial designs have been produced and an application for planning permission is currently being developed.  The aim is to have the extended and refurbished school ready for September 2016.  These works will be funded jointly by Denbighshire County Council and the Welsh Government as part of the 21st Century Schools Programme.

The Information Event is a chance for parents and local residents to see what is being proposed and comment on the proposals.  Jackie Walley, Head of Customers and Education Support at Denbighshire County Council said, “The project is a great opportunity for the pupils, staff and the wider community and will help build on the success of the school.  The plans we have developed will deliver a 21st century learning environment for children of Prestatyn.  We want local people to have the chance to see the plans and let us know what they think of them.”
