Commenting on today’s publication of the Assembly Government’s new violence against women strategy, Shadow Social Justice Minister Mark Isherwood AM said:
“We welcome the fact the Assembly Government is making this issue a priority.
“However, there is a clear need for more comprehensive action to safeguard women and children, change attitudes, deal with perpetrators, and reduce offending.
“Real gaps remain within this strategy. It is also vital the voluntary sector working in this field is given a key role in strategic planning, service delivery, priority support, and sustainable funding.”
