It’s a slam dunk for Harry

A 10 year-old from Letterston has been picked for the Welsh under-15 basket ball squad.

Harry Thomas will take part in the Lord’s Taverner’s Regional Junior Wheelchair Basketball Championships at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Buckinghamshire later this month.

Harry, who attends Ysgol Ger y Llan, started playing the sport last year and initially travelled to Swansea to participate. He now trains in Haverfordwest with the Pembrokeshire Hurricane Club.

Angela Miles, disability sports development officer for Sport Pembrokeshire – Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development arm – said she was delighted at Harry’s achievement,

“He has done very well especially for someone so young,” she said. “It’s a mark of his dedication and also the effort put in by coaches  Hamish Wilson and James Radford Smith with both Harry and the other Hurricane players.”

The Lord’s Taverner Regional Junior Wheelchair Basketball Championships will be held between Friday 29th October to Sunday 31st October.
