Keys unlock the summer

The Keys want to soundtrack your summer with their gloriously retro mini-album Fire Inside.

The Cardiff-based five piece are setting off on a ten-date summer tour in support of the album which weaves classic sixties sounds around some seriously high quality song-writing.

Self-produced with the help of REM and High Llamas producer Charlie Francis Fire Inside‘s eight tracks show the Keys moving in a more psychedelic direction, with echoes of Strawberry Switchblade, Velvet Underground, The Zombies and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Panda Bear, Animal Collective and Spiritualized bandleader Jason Pearce are among the modern artists getting a nod from the band.

The Keys play an album launch party at Cardiff Arts Institute on June 3. Las Festival, Aberdare on May 30; Rascals in Bangor on June 4; Aberystwyth Art Centre on June 19, and The Gower Rocks Festival in Swansea on July 23.
