Launch of Max Active Card

Cardiff Council is set to embark on an exciting re-launch of its leisure discount scheme.

The existing Max Card will be merged with the Active Card and will offer fantastic value for those wanting to get fit and improve their health and wellbeing.

The new Max Active Card is currently available to Cardiff residents who are in receipt of benefits and those aged between 16 – 18 years in full-time education.

The scheme offers discounts of up to 50% on all activities at Cardiff Council Leisure facilities.

Eligible customers can currently obtain a MAX Card from any Cardiff Council Leisure Centre or from a Post Office. From April 2012, customers will just need to make a one stop visit to their local Leisure Centre from where they will be able to obtain a MAX Active Card absolutely free of charge. This new method is both quick and easy for customers, making discounted leisure rates even more accessible.

Many Council leisure facilities have recently undergone refurbishment, transforming them into light, contemporary environments with all the very latest gym equipment and amenities such as, swimming pools, fitness classes, racquet sports, athletics provision and cycling.

Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Nigel Howells, said: “Max Active heralds an exciting new era for discounted leisure in Cardiff.

“The new scheme will provide a simple, fuss free way to enable those who are eligible to sign up and start using first class leisure facilities immediately in order to develop a healthy and active lifestyle.
