Loads of Opportunities at the Fairwater Jobs Fair

A jobs and training fair will be taking place at Fairwater Leisure Centre tomorrow (Friday, November 12) with more than 100 job opportunities on offer.

Cardiff Council’s Local Training and Enterprise team will be bringing details of numerous different vacancies to the jobs fair and urge anyone currently out of work to come and see what is on offer.

Local Training and Enterprise has centres in Ely, Grangetown, City Road and St Mellons and help more than 3,000 people back into work each year.  Staff will be on hand to offer support and advice for anyone interested in making a job application there and then.

There will also be a selection of motivational and team building activities for people to get involved in.

Councillor Neil McEvoy, Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council and Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “The jobs fair in Fairwater is one of a series the Council will be supporting through its Local Training and Enterprise service. It is very important during these difficult economic times that we work with local communities to promote job opportunities for local people.

“We want to embark on a Cardiff-wide road show taking job opportunities to challenged communities. As the Executive Member for Economic Development I am making sure that Cardiff Council is pro-active and we are doing everything we can help people get back to work.”

The jobs and training fair will run from 10am to 3pm at Fairwater Leisure Centre off Waterhall Road, Fairwater, CF5 3LL. A crèche will be available from 12noon to 3pm.

Future events are planned in the coming months for job seekers in Grangetown, City Road, Ely and St Mellons.  For futher information or more help call the Local Training and Enterprise team on 029 2087 2654.
